Welcome to Rixey Manor!
We want your day to feel relaxed and joyful while keeping everyone safe and protecting our historic home. We're flexible and love saying "yes" whenever we can. These guidelines just help everything run smoothly.
Décor & Environment
Please skip the loose glitter, non-biodegradable confetti, fake petals, and rice. Outdoors, real petals only. Check with us before taping or nailing anything to historic surfaces. Enclosed candles are usually fine inside, but we ask you to avoid open flames. S'mores? Absolutely. Just keep them outside on a dark tablecloth. And please bring chairs and furniture inside at the end of the night.
Noise & Timing
Outdoor amplified music and speeches wrap up by 10:00 PM. Want to keep the party going? Add Extra Party Hours and move the celebration inside. Without an extension, we'll coordinate a lovely last call and send-off around 10.
Pets & Children
Rixey is pet-friendly with prior written notice. Just keep your furry friends supervised and leashed or crated, and we can recommend local pet sitters if needed. Kids are absolutely welcome. We do have stairs, a rooftop, and a pond, so active supervision is a must. We're happy to set up a kids' lounge or movie space to keep little ones entertained.
Safety & Accessibility
You'll need a one-day event liability policy. Our newer spaces (ballroom, main-floor restrooms, patio) are ADA-friendly. The historic bedrooms and rooftop are stair-access only, but we'll gladly help with accessible parking and any special needs. Wedding-safe sparklers are welcome with staff supervision. Fireworks are not permitted. Smoking and vaping are outdoors only in designated areas.
Parking & Transportation
Free on-site parking for all your guests. Rideshare can be unreliable out here in the countryside, so we strongly recommend arranging hotel shuttles. It's safer, simpler, and your guests will thank you. We're happy to help with timing and trusted providers. Cars can stay overnight and be picked up the next morning.
Cleanup & Check-Out
We handle venue setup, breakdown, and heavy cleanup including trash removal. You and your vendors simply gather personal décor, gifts, leftover alcohol, and rentals to a designated spot. We'll coordinate pickup and take care of the rest. A refundable damage deposit or card on file may apply per your contract.
